Maria
Maria is a 10 month old (DOB 7/29/2025) female 3/4 Shih Tzu, 1/4 Maltese mix. She arrived at CJCR on 5/14/2026 with 7 of her companions. Maria is a lively puppy who loves to play with other dogs, however does not always have good boundaries and can be annoying to some of the older less energenic pups. Maria loves people and is beginning to learn how to walk on a leash. Maria has already had her health check up with normal bloodwork, heartworm negative, normal x-rays and updated vaccinations. Maria is scheduled to be spay on 6/11/26 and will be ready to go to her forever home after her recovery. Maria would love to go to a foster to adopt home to help her acclimate while completing her surgery. She would probably be great in a home with children who are a little older and know how to
treat small animals. Maria would love to have an active and patient family who can teach her all the necessary skills to live a wonderful and happy life. She is doing great on house training and will consistently use a puppy pad if she is unable to go outdoors. She can also be very vocal and is learning to use her voice only when alerting of something unusual. She is very easy to correct with soft verbal corrections and is very willing to please.
